Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Sift together almond flour and powdered sugar in a mixing bowl.
  • Separately, whip the egg whites until frothy.
  • Continue to beat until soft peaks form after adding the cream of tartar.
  • Gradually beat in the granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
  • Fold in the almond flour/mango extract mixture until the batter is smooth and shiny.
  • Fill a piping bag with the batter and pipe it onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Top each macaron shell with chopped hazelnuts.
  • Allow the macarons to come to room temperature for 30 minutes.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the macarons have firmed up and formed feet.
  • Allow to cool completely before removing from the baking sheet and filling with the filling of your choice.
