Vanilla Bean Macarons Recipe

  • Total Time: 1 hour, 18 minutes

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit (150 degrees Celsius).
  • Using parchment paper, line a baking sheet.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the almond flour and powdered sugar.
  • Whisk the egg whites until foamy in a separate bowl.
  • While whisking, gradually add the granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
  • Scrape the seeds from the vanilla bean by splitting it lengthwise.
  • Stir the seeds into the egg white mixture to combine.
  • Fold the almond flour and egg white mixture together until a smooth batter forms.
  • Fill a piping bag halfway with batter and pipe small rounds onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • To remove any air bubbles, gently tap the baking sheet on the counter.
  • Allow the macarons to form a skin at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  • Bake the macarons for 15-18 minutes, or until they are set but not browned.
  • Allow to completely cool before filling and serving.
