Heavenly Chocolate Macarons Recipe

Delectable chocolate macarons with a creamy chocolate filling. Ideal for any special occasion or as a delicious treat for yourself.

Ingredients

Time Needed

  • Prep Time: 45 minutes
  • Cook Time: 20 minutes
  • Total Time: 1 hour, 5 minutes

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine powdered sugar, almond flour, and cocoa powder.
  • In a separate mixing bowl, beat egg whites until foamy on medium speed.
  • Continue to beat until soft peaks form after adding the cream of tartar.
  • Gradually add the granulated sugar, beating on high speed until stiff, glossy peaks form.
  • Fold the dry ingredients into the egg white mixture gently until just combined.
  • Transfer batter to a piping bag fitted with a round tip and pipe small circles onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • To release any air bubbles, tap the baking sheet on a flat surface.
  • Allow the macarons to rest for 30 minutes at room temperature to form a skin on top.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the macarons are firm and easy to remove from the parchment paper.
  • Allow the macarons to completely cool on the baking sheet.
  • To make the chocolate filling, bring the heavy cream to a simmer in a small saucepan.
  • Remove from the heat and stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
  • Stir in the softened butter until well combined.
  • Filling should be transferred to a piping bag fitted with a round tip.
  • Pipe a small amount of filling onto one macaron's flat side and sandwich with another.
  • Continue with the remaining macarons and filling.
  • Refrigerate macarons in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
