Almond and Caramel Macarons Recipe

These almond and caramel macarons are a sweet and decadent treat suitable for any occasion. The delicate almond shells are filled with a rich caramel sauce, resulting in a delectable contrast of flavors and textures.

Ingredients

Time Needed

  • Prep Time: 45 minutes
  • Cook Time: 18 minutes
  • Total Time: 1 hour, 3 minutes

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Two baking sheets should be lined with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine almond flour and powdered sugar.
  • In a separate large mixing bowl, foam up the egg whites.
  • Continue to beat until soft peaks form after adding the cream of tartar.
  • Gradually add the granulated sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
  • Fold in the almond flour mixture until the batter is smooth and shiny.
  • Fill a piping bag with a round tip with the batter.
  • Pipe small rounds of batter onto the prepared baking sheets.
  • To release any air bubbles, tap the baking sheets on a flat surface.
  • Allow the macarons to rest for 30 minutes at room temperature to form a skin.
  • Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the macarons are set and slightly firm to the touch.
  • Allow the macarons to completely cool on the baking sheets.
  • Pipe caramel sauce onto one macaron's flat side and sandwich it between two macarons.
  • Rep with the rest of the macarons and caramel sauce.
  • Serve and have fun.
