Mint Chocolate Macarons Recipe

Mint Chocolate Macarons are a festive and delicious treat for any occasion. The delicate mint flavor complements the rich chocolate ganache perfectly, and the green color makes them a festive addition to any dessert table.

Ingredients

Time Needed

  • Prep Time: 45 minutes
  • Cook Time: 20 minutes
  • Total Time: 1 hour, 5 minutes

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Sift together the powdered sugar and almond flour in a medium mixing bowl.
  • Place aside.
  • Beat the egg whites with an electric mixer in a large mixing bowl until foamy.
  • Gradually incorporate the granulated sugar and continue to beat until stiff peaks form.
  • To the egg white mixture, add the mint extract and a few drops of green food coloring and beat until combined.
  • Gently fold in the dry ingredients until just combined with the egg white mixture.
  • Fill a piping bag with a round tip with the batter.
  • Pipe small circles of batter onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving about an inch between each one.
  • Tap the baking sheet a few times on a flat surface to remove any air bubbles.
  • Allow the macarons to form a skin at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the macarons are set but not browned.
  • Remove the macarons from the oven and place them on a baking sheet to cool completely.
  • To make the ganache, in a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it just begins to simmer.
  • Remove the cream from the heat and whisk in the chocolate chips until smooth.
  • Combine the mint extract and a few drops of green food coloring in a mixing bowl.
  • Fill a piping bag with the ganache and pipe a small dollop onto the flat side of half of the macaron shells.
  • To make a sandwich, place one ganache-topped shell on top of another.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
